long time no blog...

yes, things have been super busy this holiday season.
for those of you who know me well, know that i most certainly 'deck the halls' for the christmas season. only this year, that posed a bit of a problem... we are currently in the middle of a move! that's right, a move a week before christmas!
crazy, yes!
we have been living in a house that we did not love, but were just toughing it out until the next chapter of our lives took flight. that was until a house a short two blocks away became available! we were in love, inside and out, made the deal immediately, and MOVED!
one good (great) thing about moving, and the only good thing about it, is the organizing, trashing, sorting, and down sizing that comes along with the move. we have trashed BILLIONS of things that were not needed, and now are living clutter-free (almost).

our new home has the MOST AMAZING screened porch that stretches the entire length of the back of the house... that is my go-to spot for sure! it also has a brand new kitchen with a farm sink, stainless steel appliances, a gas oven ANNNNNNND a convection oven (OH MY GAWD!), and is painted in grey's, yellow's and white - doesn't get more perfect than that! we have the most beautiful hardwood floors, no carpet AT ALL, a grey master bedroom and a wood burning fireplace.
yes folks, we are HOME!
our yard, front and back, is surrounded by ginormous trees that have just lost the last of their leaves. i have raked for three days now. i woke up yesterday morning and couldn't move my shoulders! but we have a clean, green yard!
every evening since we moved the furniture in, we have sat in our back yard and enjoyed a bonfire. oh yes, i forgot to mention that.... our back yard has a fire pit! just another beautiful thing!!!!!
hope everyone is having a lovely christmas season!
merry christmas!

california love

there really is not enough time in the day...
things have been crazy busy around here, but november and december always seems to be that way.
first was our fantastic trip to california.
then i worked three 12 hour shifts.
then i drove to west virginia to meet my family - arrived at 8pm.
left at 6:30am for columbus, ohio.... shopped for 14 hours straight! (this is normal for a day in columbus with the smith girls!)
slept for 8 hours.
drove to cincinnatti, ohio and saw wicked - AMAZING! it was my second time seeing this on broadway, but watching my sweet lauren's face was worth more than words could explain.

here are some highlights of our trip to california. mark and anita's wedding was beyond imagination. it was perfection. the detail and the food and everything about it was just spectacular! it was exactly what i would have imagined a los angeles wedding to be!
so i had to share this photo - the night before the night of the rehearsal dinner we all got together at an amazing mexican restaurant with the MOST amazing margaritas... i would love to know how many drinks were made that night! between david and i stands sharon, davids cousin, which i love SOOOOOO freaking much! she photo bombed us! and it is hysterical because she always is aggravated with her sons for doing this exact thing... priceless!
the 'california' hutch family
adorable little girl shoes
we also got to enjoy some window shopping on rodeo drive -
i love this picture of ellie walking with david and brian!

my gorgeous husband in front of the beverly wilshire.
california was amazing. only wish we could have stayed longer!
